Logo & Website design for a local housing development project
Hviezdne Bývanie is a housing project located in the village of Hviezdoslavov, near the capital city of Slovakia, Bratislava. My task was to design both the logo and the website for the project.
The logo design combines two key elements to create a memorable visual identity. The word “Hviezdne” is derived from the name of the village, which itself is named after the renowned Slovak poet Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav. The modified form “Hviezdne” carries a double meaning, as “hviezda” translates to “star” in Slovak. Using a star as the central element of the logo therefore felt intuitive. The real challenge was finding a way to distinguish it from other well-known star logos.
While reviewing some pre-visualization renders of the project, I noticed a recurring sunrise/sunset theme. Upon asking the project developer about this stylistic choice, they explained that the visuals were intended to evoke feelings of happiness, positivity, and a “sunny” atmosphere. This inspired the idea of incorporating a subtle suggestion of a rising or setting sun on the horizon, but instead of a sun, I used the star associated with the project's name.

Designing a website for a housing project involves addressing two key challenges: presenting an inviting visual of the new homes and providing clear, well-organized information about the available units. The client also had a specific request: to emphasize the project’s proximity to the capital city.
These elements became the foundation of the design. The homepage opens with a mosaic of beautiful, sunlit visuals of the upcoming neighborhood, followed by a map highlighting the attractive location near Bratislava.
For the pages showcasing the flats and houses, I focused on placing the most important information at the top of the page in a simple, easily scannable format. This includes a blueprint of the property, its location within the project, and a clear table with key details such as availability, room sizes, and price.
As a small easter egg, I also visualized each house's orientation to the sun using the project's star logo as a compass, subtly pointing toward the sunrise and sunset directions.
